EQUIPMENT OF HARDWARE-AND-SOFTWARE PLATFORM "VULCAN-M"

Equipment of hardware-and-software platform "Vulcan-M" has been developed considers long-term Westron experience in creation and operation of the I&C systems, progressive tendencies of the electronics evolution, improving and extension of the platform's components assortment.
Equipment of the "Vulcan-M" platform allows to create the distributed digital monitoring and control systems with various architecture and dimensionality, corresponding to needed requirements in maximal degree.
Equipment of the "Vulcan-M" platform has been developed and being manufactured by Westron according to Technical Specifications TU U 26.2-22708202-001:2016 and TU U 26.2-22708202-002:2016 approved by NAEK "Energoatom" and State Nuclear Regulatory Inspection of Ukraine.
Equipment of the "Vulcan-M" platform has passed all kinds of the tests and completely corresponds to the requirements applicable in Ukraine (Safety Classes 2 and 3) and is recommended for application at the Ukrainian NPPs.

Consist and main functions

Equipment of the "Vulcan-M" platform has complete set of the cards and modules needed for i) receiving and producing of any electrical signals used in the modern I&C systems, and ii) organization of any modern digital links.
Main parts of the equipment are the Controller Cabinets (CC) and Workstation Cabinets (WSC).
The CC is a controller of the control system's low level and is intended for receiving of the sensors' signals, processing of the received data and producing of control signals to the actuators, sending data to the control system's upper level. The CC is independent of upper level's workstation operation and provides operation with automation object without of the operators during of unlimited time.
The WSC is built on base of industrial computers and used as a server of the control system's upper level (operator workstation, computation server, data link server and archiving server). The WSC is intended for organization of a data highway of the control system's upper level, data links to the CC equipment, data processing and archiving, time synchronization.
