Westron LLC Will Participate
in the International Trade Fair
“Power Engineering for Ukrainian Industry 2011”

Westron LLC will participate in the IX International Trade Fair “Power Engineering for Ukrainian Industry 2011”.

At the exhibition stand Westron LLC will present its control and monitoring systems and equipment which successfully operated at the Ukrainian and foreign Nuclear Power Plants and Thermal Power Plants, including:

Westron Has Signed a Contract on Works
for Shin Kori NPP (South Korea)

Westron has signed a contract with Westinghouse (USA) on providing independent safety systems code review for units 3 and 4 of Shin Kori Nuclear Power Plant (South Korea).

Unts 3 and 4 are new APR-1400 units build by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) jointly with Westinghouse. The units are scheduled to put to operation in 2013 and 2014 correspondingly.

Implementation of Vent Stack
Radiation Monitoring Equipment
of NPP Dukovany is completed

During the period from 19.07 to 28.07.2011 at NPP Dukovany (Czech Republic) the gateways and display devices of radiation monitoring system of vent stack #2 (Power Units # 3 and #4) were successfully put into operation.

This completes the works cycle of Westron LLC according to the contract with I&C Energo a.s. on manufacture, delivery and implementation of gateways and display devices for vent stack radiation monitoring of Power Units 1-4 of NPP Dukovany. Equipment manufactured by Westron LLC improves the safety operation of NPP Dukovany in the normal and emergency modes to the level of modern requirements. 

Installation of a new Plant Computer (SAMO)
to Unit 1 of Almaraz NPP (Spain)

July 28, 2011

On July 21, 2011 Unit 1 of Almaraz NPP (Spain) has been synchronized with the national power grid. Currently the Unit is in process of increasing its power towards 100%.

Thus, the critical phase of development and installation of the new Ovation®-based Information and Computation System (SAMO) to Unit 1 is complete. The works were executed by Westinghouse (USA) jointly with Westron as part of the project of SAMO modernization for both Units of Almaraz NPP.

Westron scope in the project includes design and development of Nuclear Applications and related man-machine interface components, custom reports, system database maintenance, integration of software components, developed by other project participants, as well as design, development and supply of galvanic isolation hardware for SAMO input signals coming from the safety systems.
