The
Contract on Engineering Services May 12, 2008 Westron has signed the contract with Westinghouse (USA) on engineering services for upgrade of the SAMO centralized computer systems (SAMO) at Units 1 and 2 of Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant (Spain). Westron’s scope of supply comprises the following:
The SAMO will be based on “Ovation” platform. The installation of the upgraded Almaraz NPP Units 1 and 2 SAMO is scheduled on the years 2010 and 2011.
“Vulcan-RM4” Radiation Monitoring System October 8, 2008 The State NPP Nuclear Safety Inspectorate has approved the Rovno NPP Unit 4 “Vulcan-RM4” RMS Putting into Commercial Operation Technical Decision #132-91-TR-CRB. Rovno NPP Unit 4 “Vulcan-RM4” RMS
The commercial operation of the similar Rovno NPP Unit 3 “Vulcan-RM3” RMS started from 2007. The new generation of “Vulcan-RM” RMS has been developed and manufactured by Westron. Positron enterprise is the main Westron’s subcontractor. “Vulcan-RM” RMS has been designed for the replacement of the obsolete NPP AKRB-03, AKRB-06 and AKRB-08 based Radiation Monitoring Systems. “Vulcan-RM” RMS demonstrates the improved radiation monitoring scope, automation, reliability and validity. "Vulkan-RM" Radiation Monitoring System is in the full conformity with the contemporary requirements for NPP Radiation Monitoring Systems.
Rovno NPP Unit 4 October 17, 2008 Rovno NPP Unit 4 Equipment Residual Fatigue Lifetime Diagnostics System (ERFLDS) SAT has been successfully completed, and ERFLDS has been put into pilot operation. ERFLDS supplied by “Tekhnostandart” research institute (Kharkov, Ukraine) is based on Westron’s design and commercial “Vulcan” hardware. ERFLDS software has been designed by “Gidropress” design bureau (Podolsk, Russia) and Westron LLC (Kharkov, Ukraine).

The DCS based on Westron’s commercial “Vulcan/Vulcan-M” hardware provides all TPS Unit 4 DCS functions, including the protections and interlocks, the auto process control, Unit 4 Upper Level functions and Main Control Room (MCR). The process control is provided directly from MCR workstation displays.
