Zaporozye NPP Unit 1 Radiation Monitoring System Commissioning

Zaporozye NPP Unit 1 Radiation Monitoring System (RMS) SAT commission, including the representatives of NAEK "Energoatom", Zaporozye NPP, Westron LLC, Positron LLC, "Energoprojekt" institute, "Elektromontazh-10" close corporation, and the state supervisory authorities, that was assigned by the order #777 of December 19, 2006 has made the decision on Zaporozye Unit 1 RMS commisioning.

The RMS of the new generation has been designed and manufactured by Westron. The main Westron's subcontractor is Positron enterprise. "Vulcan-RM" RMS has been designed for the replacement of the obsolete NPP RMS systems (AKRB-03, AKRB–06 and AKRB-08), extension of the RMS scope, and improvement of radiation monitoring automation, reliability and validity. "Vulcan-RM" RMS completely meets the requirements applicable for VVER and RBMK NPP RMS systems. There are capabilities for phase-by-phase replacement of the operational RMS by the "Vulcan-RM" RMS.

The RMS upgrade on the basis of "Vulcan-RM" RMS is also performed on Zaporozye NPP Units 2 and 3, Rovno NPP Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 and South-Ukraine NPP Units 1 and 2.

Zaporozye NPP Unit 2 Radiation Monitoring System Upgrade

Within the period from December 1 through December 20, installation and start-up of Zaporozye NPP Unit 2 "Vulcan-RM2" Radiation Monitoring System (RMS) related to Zaporozye NPP Unit 2 safety train 3 were performed. "Vulcan-RM2" RMS SAT was a success. The "Vulcan-RM2" RMS that provides monitoring of the radiation parameters for three Zaporozye Unit 2 safety trains has been put into pilot operation.

Zaporozye NPP Unit 3 Radiation Monitoring System Upgrade

Within the period from November 20 through December 10, installation, start-up and SAT of Zaporozye NPP Unit 3 "Vulcan-RM3" Radiation Monitoring System (RMS) related to Zaporozye NPP Unit 3 safety train 1 were performed. The personnel of Zaporozye NPP, Westron LLC and Positron LLC have put Zaporozye NPP Unit 3 "Vulcan-RM3" RMS into operation in line with the Zaporozye NPP RMS upgrade schedules. Zaporozye NPP Unit 3 "Vulcan-RM3" RMS hardware delivery was provided on the contract concluded between Westron LLC and Atomkomplekt of NAEK "ENERGOATOM".

Steam Generator Level Control System for Armenia NPP Unit 2
Has Been Put into Pilot Operation

The successful completion of Steam Generator Level Control System (FWCS) SAT on ANPP Unit 2 has been resulted in its putting into pilot operation.

The FWCS design and manufacture was provided on the international project on the TACIS program. The main Westron's contractor for the FWCS project is LvovORGRES.

Previously, Westron has supplied the FWCS on all Units of South-Ukraine NPP where they are successfully operating.
