General Information Our News Production Reference List Quality System Service Center Links Photo & Video Mass-Media Bulletins	Information Bulletin No. 52 (March-May 2006) SUNPP Personnel Training on SUNPP Unit 3 UL CIS Upgrade Project May 19, 2006 Westron has provided the SUNPP personnel training to the extent necessary to assure their competence in the fundamentals of the "Vulcan" and "Vulcan-M" operation on the SUNPP Unit 3 Upper Level Computer Information System (UL CIS) upgrade project. The SUNPP personnel training on the SUNPP Unit 3 UL CIS (phase 2) to be supplied on the SUNPP Unit 3 with the demonstration of the UL CIS functions was provided in the Westron's training center. The SUNPP personnel have obtained the Certificates of Training. SUNPP Unit 3 Upper Level Computer Information System FAT May 17, 2006 The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the SUNPP Unit 3 Upper Level Computer Information System (phase 2 of the SUNPP Unit 3 CIS upgrade) has been successfully completed at Westron. The phase 1 of the SUNPP Unit 3 Upper Level Computer Information System (UL CIS) upgrade, including the "Titan-2" CIS operator workplace replacement with the up-to-date workstations located on MCR, was completed within the period of the SUNPP Unit 3 outage 2005. The phase 2 of the SUNPP Unit 3 UL CIS upgrade will provide the replacement of the whole SUNPP Unit 3 UL CIS within the period of the SUNPP Unit 3 outage 2006. Along with the SUNPP Unit 3 UL CIS replacement, the Turbine Generator Monitoring System (A701-03) and the Low Level CIS part related to the Centralized Protections Testing functions (replacement of the three cabinets in the Safety System rooms) will be replaced with the "Vulcan-M" hardware, the SUNPP Unit 3 UL CIS and KSO data link will be implemented, and the KSO maintenance and diagnostics software will be provided. SUNPP Unit 3 Automatised Chemistry Control and Diagnosis Expert System Has Been Supplied on South-Ukraine NPP Unit 3 May 16, 2006 Westron has supplied the SUNPP Unit 3 Automatised Chemistry Control and Diagnosis Expert System (Expert System) on SUNPP Unit 3. Prior to the SUNPP Unit 3 Expert System shipment on site it has successfully passed FAT. It is the second Expert System developed and manufactured by Westron on the international TACIS Program. The SUNPP Unit 3 Expert System is capable to calculate the chemistry parameters when required, indicate the chemistry deviations, provide the operators with the diagnosis results, and provide alarms when required. The SUNPP Unit 3 Expert System implementation on the SUNPP Unit 3 is planning within the period of the SUNPP Unit 3 outage 2006. SUNPP Unit 2 Automatised Chemistry Control and Diagnosis Expert System Has Been Supplied on South-Ukraine NPP Unit 2 March 29, 2006 Westron has supplied the SUNPP Unit 2 Automatised Chemistry Control and Diagnosis Expert System (Expert System) on SUNPP Unit 2. The SUNPP Unit 2 Expert System is developed and manufactured by Westron on the international TACIS Program. Prior to the SUNPP Unit 2 Expert System shipment on site it has successfully passed FAT. The SUNPP Unit 2 Expert System is capable to acquire and process the Primary and Secondary chemistry and operational data, calculate the chemistry parameters when required, indicate the chemistry deviations, provide the operators with diagnosis results, and provide alarms when required. The SUNPP Unit 2 Expert System implementation on the SUNPP Unit 2 is planning within the period of the SUNPP Unit 2 outage 2006. In 2006, Westron will develop, manufacture and implement the Expert Systems for the SUNPP Unit 1 and Unit 3 on the international TACIS Program. South Baghdad Thermal Power Station Unit 3 HSS FAT Has Been Completed March 22, 2006 Westron has successfully completed FAT of the Hardware-Software System (HSS) for South Baghdad Thermal Power Station (TPS) Unit 3 Digital Control System. The HSS has been developed and manufactured by Westron on the basis of the "Vulcan-M" hardware developed by Westron. The HSS applies the state-of-the-art industrial PC's, reliable redundant controllers that provide the Unit protections and interlocks, auto process control, as well as the direct remote control, using the operator workstation displays, and the Unit process point status display on the large monitors that on the opinion of the Customer allow to confirm that the high level HSS developed by Westron provides implementation of all TPS Digital Control System functions. The HSS is developed jointly with the LvovORGRES (Lvov) and Energoprojekt institute (Kharkov). The HSS systems for the South Baghdad TPS Units apply the Westron's base software integrated with the control software modules developed by LvovORGRES. Presently, Westron is in the process of completion of the HSS manufacture for the South Baghdad TPS Unit 4. Zaporozhye NPP "Vulcan-RM3" Radiation Monitoring System Equipment Has Been Supplied on Site March 20, 2006 Westron has supplied the equipment for the ZNPP Unit 3 "Vulcan-RM3" Radiation Monitoring System (RMS) under the contract for the replacement of the obsolate ZNPP Unit 3 AKRB-03 with the "Vulcan-RM3" RMS related to the Safety System 2 radiation parameter measuring channels. The ZNPP Unit 3 "Vulcan-RM3" RMS has been supplied in conformity with the Comprehensive NPP Units Upgrade and Safety Improvement Program approved by the ministry of Ukraine. The ZNPP Unit 3 "Vulcan-RM3" putting into the commercial operation is planning during the ZNPP Unit outage 2006.
